Hello and welcome! I’m a UK-based gardener with a large, particularly wide plot to work with. When I first started working on the garden back in 2022, it was essentially just a vast expanse of lawn with a few mature fruit trees.
Since then, my main goal over the seasons has been to bring in plenty of structure, movement, and rich autumn colour. Over the years, I’ve planted a lot of trees to help anchor the space and create a beautiful sense of privacy. Alongside them, I am steadily layering in perennials, structural shrubs, and ornamental grasses, which I am incredibly fond of for the breathtaking way they sway and catch the light.
Designing an expansive garden to feel intimate is a wonderful, creative puzzle, and it’s something I love working on. Every year brings new opportunities to improve the soil, experiment with planting, and build pockets of seclusion.
Bit by bit, the garden is quietly evolving into a beautiful, cohesive sanctuary, and it’s something I’m incredibly proud of. I’ve started this blog as a space to share that journey – the successes, the rewarding seasonal experiments, and the genuine joy of watching a large space come alive.
